Homemade Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea

Description

A cozy and comforting beverage made with vanilla, cinnamon, and warm milk, perfect for rainy afternoons.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • ½ cup of milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 cinnamon stick or ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 black tea bag or 1 teaspoon of loose leaf black tea (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar, honey, or another sweetener
  • 1 star anise (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  2. Add the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean to the boiling water (or ground cinnamon and vanilla extract) and reduce the heat; cover.
  3. Let the mixture steep for about 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture into a cup and add a black tea bag or loose black tea; steep for an additional 3 to 5 minutes.
  5. While the tea is steeping, heat ½ cup of milk in another saucepan over low heat.
  6. Combine the warm milk with the brewed tea in the cup.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or a cinnamon stick.
  8. For an iced version, let the tea cool and pour it over ice.
