Description
A simple, refreshing Italian ice made with Kool-Aid that’s perfect for a light dessert or a nostalgic snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup Kool-Aid powder (your preferred flavor)
- 2 1/2 cups hot water
- Optional: small splash of lemon or lime juice
- Optional: a teaspoon of pureed fresh fruit (strawberry, raspberry, or mango)
- Optional: a pinch of stevia or another sugar substitute
- Optional: fresh mint leaves
- Optional: a teaspoon of chia seeds
Instructions
- Measure 1/2 cup Kool-Aid powder into a Ninja Creami pint and pour in 2 1/2 cups of hot water. Stir until fully dissolved.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness if necessary with more water or sweetener.
- Seal the pint with its lid and lay it flat in the freezer. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
- When ready, remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid. Place it into the Ninja Creami machine and lock it into place.
- Select the Italian Ice program on the Ninja Creami. You may need to run the program a second time for the desired consistency.
- Scoop the Italian ice into bowls and enjoy. If too firm, allow a minute or two at room temperature or refreeze and re-spin if too loose.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider replacing 1/4 cup of water with coconut water. Ensure to mix in fresh fruits gently to preserve texture.
