- 2 tablespoons raw or Dutch cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter or almond butter
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon dairy-free chocolate chips or 1/2 ounce dark chocolate bar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1.5 teaspoons pumpkin spice
- 2 cups unsweetened soy milk or oat milk
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Gather and measure all your ingredients.
- Choose a medium saucepan and place it over medium heat.
- Combine the pumpkin puree and cocoa powder in the saucepan.
- Add the nut butter, maple syrup, and chocolate chips or chocolate bar.
- Pour in the milk and add a pinch of salt.
- Whisk immediately.
- Heat until rapidly simmering while continuously whisking.
- Once the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth, use an immersion blender if desired.
- Taste and adjust the flavors as needed.
- Pour into mugs and garnish as you wish.
Notes
For extra sweetness, consider adding brown sugar or flavored syrups. Ensure you’re using pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
