Description
A refreshing and customizable cold brew coffee elevated with a rich, homemade vanilla sweet cream.
Ingredients

- 1 cup coffee grounds (medium-coarse)
- 6 cups cold, filtered water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water (for vanilla syrup)
- 1 vanilla bean (split)
- ¾ cup half-and-half
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons homemade vanilla syrup
- 6–7 oz. cold brew coffee
- ½ oz. homemade vanilla syrup (optional, to taste)
- 1 oz. vanilla sweet cream
- Ice (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large pitcher, mix coffee grounds with 6 cups of cold water and let steep overnight.
- Prepare a fine mesh strainer lined with a coffee filter or cheesecloth over a bowl.
- Strain the cold brew mixture twice through the lined strainer.
- Pour the strained cold brew into a sealable container and refrigerate.
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and 1 cup of water, heat until dissolved.
- Add the split vanilla bean to the syrup and let steep for 2 hours.
- In a bowl, mix half-and-half and heavy whipping cream, whisk in 3 tablespoons of vanilla syrup.
- Pour the sweet cream into a mason jar and refrigerate.
- In a glass filled with ice, pour in the cold brew, add vanilla syrup to taste, then top with the sweet cream.
- Stir and enjoy!
Notes
If you’re short on time, you can use store-bought cold brew or vanilla syrup. Adjust the sweetness and creaminess to fit your taste.
