Ingredients

- 200 grams red bean
- 28 ounces water
- 250 grams rock sugar
- 28 – 30 ice cubes
- 6 – 7 ounces evaporated milk (optional)
- 3 scoops vanilla ice cream (optional)
- Drinking water (as needed)
Instructions
- Soak the red beans overnight in a bowl covered with water.
- Rinse the soaked beans and transfer them to a pot with 28 ounces of fresh water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low and let them simmer for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add rock sugar and continue cooking until the mixture thickens, 10 to 40 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for 20 minutes before refrigerating until cold, at least 2 hours.
- Serve by filling glasses with red beans, pouring evaporated milk, topping with crushed ice, and adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Ensure to soak the beans overnight for even cooking. You can add fruits or toppings for extra flavor.
