Ingredients

  • 200 grams red bean
  • 28 ounces water
  • 250 grams rock sugar
  • 2830 ice cubes
  • 67 ounces evaporated milk (optional)
  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream (optional)
  • Drinking water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Soak the red beans overnight in a bowl covered with water.
  2. Rinse the soaked beans and transfer them to a pot with 28 ounces of fresh water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let them simmer for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add rock sugar and continue cooking until the mixture thickens, 10 to 40 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool for 20 minutes before refrigerating until cold, at least 2 hours.
  6. Serve by filling glasses with red beans, pouring evaporated milk, topping with crushed ice, and adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Ensure to soak the beans overnight for even cooking. You can add fruits or toppings for extra flavor.
